Hope found in Scriptures

When Joseph Smith was a young boy he had a question. He wanted to know which church he should join, which church was the true church of Christ. Through study and prayer, he found his answer through a miraculous vision. Jesus Christ told him that none of the churches were true and that He was called to be a prophet and to restore the true church. He was also given the power to translate an ancient record called the Book of Mormon. Through this book and through modern-day revelation we are able to know God's will for us and we can receive personal revelation to guide our own lives. Much truth was restored through this record and through the prophets that had been lost over the years. Because of these restored truths, we know that all will live again, that we have the opportunity to achieve exaltation, and that the Savior's Atonement covers us completely. I know this church is true and I know it with every fiber of my being. The Holy Spirit of God has testified it to me.

Pit Mexico de la estudia y la oración Él encontró su respuesta en una visión maravillosa. Jesucristo le dijo que ninguna de las iglesias era verdadera y que él fue llamado por ser profeta y restaurar la Iglesia de Cristo en la tierra. También fue dado el poder de traducir un registro antiguo se llama el Libro de Mormón. Por medio de este libro y también por revelación de este dia podemos saber la voluntad de Dios. También podemos recibir revelación para nuestras propias vidas. Mucha de la verdad fue restaurado por este libro y también por revelación. Ahora sabemos que todos vamos a resucitar, que tenemos la oportunidad de lograr la exaltación, y que la Expiación nos cubre completamente. Sé que está Iglesia es verdadera con todo mi corazón, alma, y mente. El Espíritu Santo me lo ha testificado. 

Christ is the Hope "Smiling Brightly Before Us"

"Because of Christ there is hope smiling brightly before you, and you need not worry too much about sickness, death, poverty, or other afflictions. The Lord will take care of you. Your responsibility is to keep the commandments, feast upon the words of Christ, and stay on the path to your heavenly home." --Sister Julie B. Beck
I know that Jesus Christ is the hope. Because we know that Christ is with us we don't have to fear anything. Through Christ, we can overcome all. We only have to keep the commandments, including reading the scriptures and praying to God every day. If we do this we will know that we are doing what the Lord wants. We will return to heaven to live with God and our families forever.

Yo sé que Jesucristo es la esperanza. Porque sabemos que Cristo está con nosotros no tenemos que tener miedo de nada. A través de Cristo podemos superar todo. Solo tenemos que guardar los mandamientos, incluyendo leer las escrituras y orar a Padre Celestial cada día. Si lo hacemos, sabremos que estamos haciendo lo que el Señor quiere. Regresaremos al cielo para vivir con Dios y nuestras familias para siempre. 

HOPE of a Glorious Resurrection

"And there were gathered together in one place an innumerable company of the spirits of the just, who had been faithful in the testimony of Jesus while they lived in mortality; And who had offered sacrifice in the similitude of the great sacrifice of the Son of God, and had suffered tribulation in their Redeemer’s name. All these had departed the mortal life, firm in the hope of a glorious resurrection, through the grace of God the Father and his Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. I beheld that they were filled with joy and gladness, and were rejoicing together because the day of their deliverance was at hand." --Joseph F. Smith

We can have hope and joy through the knowledge of our deliverance from death and our opportunity for achieving eternal life. When things are hard in life and we may feel like giving up, we can find strength through the knowledge of what we have done in our lives and that it is good. If we do that which is good in this life we have no need to fear the coming life. We will rejoice at the last day at the opportunity to stand with the just in the presence of God.

Podemos tener esperanza y gozo a través del conocimiento de nuestra liberación de la muerte y nuestra oportunidad para alcanzar la vida eterna. Cuando las cosas son duras en la vida y podemos tener ganas de rendirnos, podemos encontrar la fuerza a través del conocimiento de lo que hemos hecho en nuestras vidas y que es bueno. Si hacemos lo que es bueno en esta vida no tenemos necesidad de temer la vida que viene. Nos regocijaremos en el último día por la oportunidad de estar con los justos en la presencia de Dios.

Darkness Cannot Exist Where Light Is

"There may be some among you who feel darkness encroaching upon you. You may feel burdened by worry, fear, or doubt. To you and to all of us, I repeat a wonderful and certain truth: God’s light is real. It is available to all! It gives life to all things. It has the power to soften the sting of the deepest wound. It can be a healing balm for the loneliness and sickness of our souls. In the furrows of despair, it can plant the seeds of a brighter hope. It can enlighten the deepest valleys of sorrow. It can illuminate the path before us and lead us through the darkest night into the promise of a new dawn." --Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf
Darkness cannot exist where light is. The light is God's love will always cast it out. It illuminates the path in front of us just enough to take the next step. Through God's love and mercy we can be healed and lifted out of any sorrow, any grief, any trial. God's light is the light at the end of every tunnel. I know that by relying on God and on the atonement of Christ we can overcome any trial.

La oscuridad no puede existir dónde la luz está. La luz del amor de Dios siempre lo desechará. Ilumina el camino delante de nosotros sólo bastante para tomar el siguiente paso. Mediante el amor y la misericordia de Dios, podemos ser sanados y sacado de cualquier dolor, cualquier pena, cualquier juicio. La luz de Dios es la luz al final de cada túnel. Sé que confiando en Dios y en la expiación de Cristo podemos superar cualquier desafío. 

Commandments = LOVE

"I testify that those who keep His commandments will grow in faith and hope. They will be given strength to overcome all of life’s trials. They will experience peace that passes all understanding."  Wilford W. Andersen
Many see the commandments of God as a burden. As a way to keep us from enjoying life, as a fence that keeps us from greener pastures. In reality, the commandments are a way for us to find more happiness. As we keep the commandments we can feel God's love for us, we can feel the Spirit testify to us that what we are doing is right, we feel peace that we are in line with God's will. Keeping the commandments is not always easy, but when we strive to follow Christ we are blessed with peace and hope beyond compare. The commandments bring us safety and freedom. As we bring our will in line with God's and follow His commandments we are freed from the sorrow that comes through disobedience and sin, and from the captivity of grief. We will have the strength to overcome the temptations of the adversary.
I know in my life when I have strived to keep the commandments I have been blessed with so many things. I have been blessed with greater understanding, a fuller trust from others, more strength to choose the right, and a peaceful feeling. When I have disobeyed I have felt shame, remorse, guilt, and sorrow. When I keep the commandments I feel the guiding influence of the Holy Spirit.
When I keep the commandments I feel the assurance that I will be able to live with my family forever. I know that the commandments are a blessing to us, and that they show the love he has for us.

Muchos ven los mandamientos de Dios como una carga. Como una manera de impedirnos disfrutar de la vida, como una cerca que nos guarda de pastos más verdes. En realidad, los mandamientos son la manera en que podemos encontrar más felicidad. Si guardamos los mandamientos podemos sentir el amor de Dios por nosotros, podemos sentir que el Espíritu nos testifica que lo que estamos haciendo es correcto, sentimos la paz que estamos de acuerdo con la Voluntad de Dios.  Guardar los mandamientos no siempre es fácil, pero cuando nos esforzamos por seguir a Cristo somos bendecidos con la paz y la esperanza más allá de comparar.  Los mandamientos nos traen la seguridad y la libertad. Cuando traemos nuestra voluntad de acuerdo con Dios y seguimos Sus mandamientos somos liberados de la pena que atraviesa la desobediencia y el pecado, y del cautiverio  del pesar.  Tendremos la fuerza para vencer las tentaciones del adversario.
Sé que en mi vida, cuando me he esforzado por guardar los mandamientos, he sido bendecido con tantas cosas.  He sido bendecida con una mayor comprensión, una mayor confianza de los demás, más fuerza para elegir el derecho y una sensación apacible.  Cuando he desobedecido he sentido vergüenza, remordimiento, culpa y tristeza.  Cuando guardo los mandamientos siento la guía del Espíritu Santo.
Cuando guardo los mandamientos siento la seguridad de que podré vivir con mi familia para siempre. Sé que los mandamientos son una bendición para nosotros, y que demuestren el amor que
Él tiene para nosotros.

Saved by Hope

"For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it." Romans 8:24-25
"And now as I said concerning faith—faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true." Alma 32:21
"Hope is not knowledge, but rather the abiding trust that the Lord will fulfill His promise to us." Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf
Faith and hope are inseparably connected. You cannot have one without the other. Hope comes from faith that God will fulfill his promises, and faith requires hope for that which you cannot see. This faith and hope allows us to move forward in life. Even when we cannot see the next step, when we are in a figurative mist of darkness, we can hope for and have faith that we will receive guidance.
Having faith and hope also requires patience--to wait for the things we want, to trust in the Lord's perfect timing, to do all that the Lord has asked of us even when we aren't seeing the results. Hope comes when we have faith that all the things we are doing now will bring us salvation and exaltation.

I know that if we will move forward with faith even when we can't see the path ahead, we will be guided, and we will be able to know what the Lord would have us do.

La fe y la esperanza están inseparablemente conectadas. No puedes tener uno sin el otro. La esperanza viene de la fe de que Dios cumplirá sus promesas, y la fe requiere esperanza para aquello que usted no puede ver.
Esta fe y esperanza nos permite seguir adelante. Aunque a veces no podemos ver el siguiente paso, cuando estamos en una niebla figurativa de tinieblas, podemos esperar y tener fe en que recibiremos orientación.
Tener fe y esperanza también requiere paciencia--esperar las cosas que queremos, confiar en el momento perfecto del Señor, hacer todo lo que el Señor nos ha pedido incluso cuando no estamos viendo los resultados. La esperanza viene cuando tenemos fe en que todas las cosas que estamos haciendo ahora nos traerán la salvación y la exaltación.
Sé que si seguimos adelante con la fe aun cuando no podamos ver el camino por delante, seremos guiados, y podremos saber lo que el Señor quiere que hagamos.

Hope in the Plan of Salvation

"and they never did look upon death with any degree of terror, for their hope and views of Christ and the resurrection; therefore, death was swallowed up to them by the victory of Christ over it." Alma 27:28
One of my favorite stories in the Book of Mormon is that of the people of Ammon. After they were converted unto the Lord they covenanted that they would never again take up arms against their brethren. When the Lamanites came up to war against them they didn't fight back, but let themselves be killed. Their bravery and fearlessness came from their knowledge of the eternal plan of redemption. They knew that after death that they would be resurrected, and, if they were faithful to the gospel of Jesus Christ, they would be exalted. They knew that the process of repentance that they went through was incredibly difficult and they would rather give their lives than risk falling away from Christ because they knew that after having repented they would be saved.
We can have this same hope through Christ. Because of His Atonement, we will be resurrected and have the opportunity, through repentance and faith on His name, to be exalted. This means everything to me. Because of my knowledge of the plan of salvation, I am not afraid of death. I have hope for the future and a purpose in life. I can move forward with faith, trusting in the Lord. I can have hope.
This is what the gospel of Jesus Christ has done for me and what it can do for anyone willing to have faith in Christ.

Una de mis historias favoritas en el libro de Mormón es la del pueblo de Ammón. Después de que se convirtieran al Señor, pactaron que no volverían a tomar las armas contra sus hermanos. Cuando los lamanitas llegaron a la guerra contra ellos no lucharon, pero se dejaron matar. Su valor y audacia procedían de su conocimiento del plan eterno de redención. Sabían que después de la muerte serían resucitados, y, si fueran fieles al Evangelio de Jesucristo, serían exaltados. Sabían que el proceso de arrepentimiento que atravesaban era increíblemente difícil y preferían dar sus vidas que arriesgarse a caer lejos de Cristo, porque sabían que después de haberse arrepentido serían salvados.
Podemos tener esta misma esperanza a través de Cristo. A causa de su expiación resucitaremos y tendremos la oportunidad, a través del arrepentimiento y la fe en su nombre, de ser exaltados. Esto significa todo para mí. Debido a mi conocimiento del plan de salvación no tengo miedo a la muerte. Tengo esperanzas para el futuro y un propósito en la vida. Puedo seguir adelante con fe, confiando en el Señor. Puedo tener esperanza.
Esto es lo que el Evangelio de Jesucristo ha hecho por mí y lo que puede hacer por cualquiera que esté dispuesto a tener fe en Cristo.
